I came across the Dynamic HTML Editor in a search while looking for possible replacements for AOL's plagued Easy Designer. I downloaded it today to play around with and was very disappointed.

I realize that you are concentrating your efforts on your 2.3 version and understand completely. However, here was an opportunity to introduce your "free" version to potentially 23 million internet users for possible upgrade to the 2.3 version.

I've been an experienced web designer for years and have experience with a number of different editors including writing my own code. But to my dismay I could NOT find out how to input text in the text box (the tool kept turning into a "Move" tool) and found the text properties box overwhelming. And by the way for page background the "black" default should have been a pure "white" (#FFFFFF) default. Even your help was no help as it merely gave a brief description of the icons/tools.

I already have your editor on my list of alternatives, but am thinking of taking if off, but before I do, am asking if you want to take this halfway with me. I'm willing to put in some of the work necessary, but you need to give me something to work with. AOL users like "FREE", but if you provide them with a user-friendly tool with the option to upgrade for some truly great features as they advance with their design, the more money in your pocket.

The ball is in your court. Do you want the exposure or do I give the opportunity to someone else?

Thats likely the most common mistake everyone makes the first time out with Dynamic HTML Editor....try the "Label" tool for your text input......if I read you right.BTW Dynamic HTML Editor is a very user-friendly tool which you possibly will no doubt discover,if you back-off from your years of experience and approach it in a different direction....the light will come on.It took me awhile...but then again I'm slow. :p

Hello LogicsHere,

Unfortunately a day contains only 24h and If I want to sleep I need to make a choice; For now I've no time to play with Dynamic HTML Editor 1.x. In the immediate future I'll work to terminate features for version 2.x.
I've already said that probably a free version of Dynamic HTML Editor 2.x will be released but I haven't start working with it :-(

Your questions:
>And by the way for page background the "black" default should have been a pure "white" (#FFFFFF) default

The default of new pages is White (#FFFFFF) this from the first release 1.0

>Even your help was no help as it merely gave a brief description of the icons/tools.
;-), I already know, Dynamic HTML Editor 2.x has a complete help

>I could NOT find out how to input text in the text box
Try to use the label instead ;-)

>The ball is in your court. Do you want the exposure or do I give the opportunity to someone else?
Let me know what limitations I can do for a 2.x version free version

Regards, Davide
