Local publish not working correctly

I took the samples and exported "all", then did a publish of "all" and am unable to find the files in the output directory I specified.
"index.htm" is in the directory I selected as my target directory (e:/temp/website), and all of the remainder are in the "samples/objects" folder.
Please advise...

You have to check "recurse sub directories" or the publisher will copy only the root folder and the "files" folder
