I also had the same problem with the http://www.bbagliulivi.it
No search engines contain this site :-(

What I did:
1- I uploaded a sitemap.xml file to google
2- wait at least 2 weeks
3- now the site is into google but only at page 5

What I have to do:
1- search the keywords I want
2- open the first and second site on the google list
3- check the keywords / descriptions / content of these site
4- modify the site accordingly to them :-)

Hello TOON,

I don't know where you found the text about Google, but when it says
". . . by sending a request to a web server for a web page"
I think it still means that Google must be aware of the existance of the domain. I used the words "schep" & "welding" and also "Schepwelding" on Google, and in both cases I get a reference to this thread. Not the schepwelding site. I don't know what it means, but I would add the url to Google anyway.
I seams that Google also thinks that a site is important, if many other sites have links to it.
An other possibility is to create a word that doesn't exist an duse it on the site. If Google knows the page and you use that word, you get a 100% hit. (Try "zoekjewat" on Google.)

I have never submitted anything to any search engine yet they show up for the most part. I have one that shows up --but just the blog page where I addad new content while replying to a post [about comments] in this forum http://www.hexagora.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1564 I do not know if it was indexed before that.

The new content was simply 2 comments in a blog.Others [test sites] show up because they are being spammed [new content]---again -the index page shows up because all the pages are being spammed I assume--I realize google does not love spammed content but there is no other reason just that page shows up.

google> www.mydemo123.com/olcms I added coments [see above]

www.mydemo123.com/modx3 spam

www.mydemo123.com/snews I added coments here

You can ignore my suggestion about "new-fresh content" as a possible cause, but it is pretty important--and even a little bit can enough difference that if you google the address it will at least show up somewhere [some page] in the site...

Also like your web browser it must have an address for referral.

One way to control how Google sees your site....

1. Googlebot, Google?s Web Crawler

Googlebot is Google?s web crawling robot, which finds and retrieves pages on the web and hands them off to the Google indexer. It?s easy to imagine Googlebot as a little spider scurrying across the strands of cyberspace, but in reality Googlebot doesn?t traverse the web at all. It functions much like your web browser, by sending a request to a web server for a web page, downloading the entire page, then handing it off to Google?s indexer.

Googlebot consists of many computers requesting and fetching pages much more quickly than you can with your web browser. In fact, Googlebot can request thousands of different pages simultaneously. To avoid overwhelming web servers, or crowding out requests from human users, Googlebot deliberately makes requests of each individual web server more slowly than it?s capable of doing.

No Jan, you're wrong about that.

Every page is visited except for those in a directory password protected.
Jan van Londen Posted - 24 Dec 2008 : 13:41:38
I think it's necessary. A robot cannot fiend a new domain if it isn't reported somewhere. That is because most domains are on an existing machine with a certain ip-adres on which there are a lot of domains. You don't get a list of domains from that machine, as far as I know.
T00N Posted - 24 Dec 2008 : 12:15:42
No that shouldn't be necessary, that's where they have 'spiders' or 'robots for.
Nevertheless, submitting the url won't hurt so I'll do that anyway.
Jan van Londen Posted - 24 Dec 2008 : 11:14:49
According to me you should add the url to Google. How else must Google know of it's existence. If you don't add the url, Google doesn't know there's something to visit at all.
You can do that here: http://www.google.nl/addurl/

joneq Posted - 23 Dec 2008 : 23:27:12
Maybe try adding a sitemap. Really unnecessary due to its size, but google might like it--Being such a very small site with no new content is another bad thing--the bigger the better--this is very small and there is probably never any new content added..Nothing ever changes since google does not see images

Also I put it in here and there is no info on the domain name available [among other things]

http://website.grader.com/Default.aspx

It only rates a 2 out of 100
T00N Posted - 23 Dec 2008 : 23:02:52
I didn't report it but it's online for about 3 months now.

Hello TOON,

When did you actually report this site to Google?
