I want to make a website and on every page I want the same menu in the top of the page.(Like on Hexagora.com the links download, contacts, sitemap and forum)
These pages link to each other. Do I have to make four separate sites and link them together or is there another (better) way.

And if I have to make these separate sites, do I have to make the menu four times, or is it possible to make a sort of basic site (in dutch they call it a "sjabloon" (for Martin) and work this thing out.

Hello Erikr,

simply create the basic structure of your site in a separate Dynamic HTML Editor file then save this file and include it in every page of your site ;-)

Hello Fouch,

there is a difference from Include an external Dynamic HTML Editor file containing the scheleton of your page and duplicate the menus every time.

When including external dhe files Dynamic HTML Editor will create the images and external files only a time naming them on the included file name so you have the same images (physically) for all your site;
When you want to make a change to the menu simply change the included file ;-)

If you duplicate the menu on every page you have many copies of every image for every page :-( This is no good

Davide

How do I include a external Dynamic HTML Editor file into a new page.

When i look in the Help files, i should see on the left side under "generics" a option called "include Dynamic HTML Editor file". I don't see it in Dynamic HTML Editor. After "Generics" i have the option "Position type of next drawn object".

I've already found it, it is under the "tools menu".

I've stil have another question.

Al the objects in the external seem to be locked, i can not change anything?
It is not possible change order of the objects, what i mean is can i put a new layer under a layer in the external Dynamic HTML Editor file.

No, an external Dynamic HTML Editor file is obviously locked; you have to change the source Dynamic HTML Editor file to change the included one.

When I include a structure page I've made earlier (with some graphics and a menu) it doesn't align well in the new page.
I want it centered but I sets itself on the lefthand side ?!

Another thing is that it says there are 'collision' errors.

Do I have to make out a layer first or???

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you very much for this advice. It was a problem I was wrestling with and I was just about to make copies of the same menu 4 times. Now I know this is not the way to work and I will have a go with your method.
I am almost finished making an explanation to an intranet content manegement tool we are using in our company. I is a very easy tool but not 'monkey proof'. So for my colleges I develloped an instructionsite with Dynamic HTML editor and I loved working with it. It is absolutely great.

By the way did you know that the biggest computerclub of the Netherlands had an article about your program in their glossy. That's the reason I bought your program!

I hope a lot of others will follow, you deserve the funds. It must have been a hell of a job to create the program.

Greetings

@T00N

- An included page is positioned exactly as it is originally
- To center your page act on the "center page" flag in the page properties
- A collision appears when two or more relative positioned objects overlap... so if you use relative objects and want overlap them you have to draw them into a layer.
