Hello Davide,

I have come across this issue several times and thought it time to let you know and see if you can change it in the program.

In webdesign white text on a colored background is often used. The problem is that as soon as I create text and make it white and need to change anything later on the texteditor also shows the text white. But the editor background is also white. So I can't read the text anymore. I first need to change the text color to black and make my changes in the text and then return the text color to white.

Everytime I want to change something in the text I need to do this all over. Isn't it possible when one creates text and makes it white to have the backrgound of the text editor change color? Or even simpeler have the text in the editor go a bit grayer instead of completely white. Just in the text editor of course not in the webpage.

This would be usefull only for white text. All the other colors are okay but white text on a white background in the text editor is rather annoying.

Martin

I have two more ideas.

I really would like to be able to add things to the source code at specific points. I am using a Content Managment System and I don't want my client to be able to edit everything so I need to set up editblocks around certain parts of the texts. The only way I can do this is by going into the source code and add it.

If I do this with notepad or another program and later on change things in Dynamic HTML Editor I lose these special editblock tags.

So an options in Dynamic HTML Editor for working inside the source would be more than excellent. Before, when I used GoLive I often went to the source tab to change things by hand. I know that a lot of webdesigners like to fiddle with the source code so this option would be a great improvement!

Another thing that would be nice but not exactly necessary is the option to have Dynamic HTML Editor show me how long a webpage would take to load in the different internet connections.
You could call it Document statistics.
So for instance I made a page and want to know if it's to heavy (in kb's) and loads to slow I can choose an option in Dynamic HTML Editor and it tells me that on a 56k modem it would take an average of 16 seconds to load and on a ISDN line it would take 14 seconds, on a T1 line 2 seconds and a T3 line 1 second.

[2 H:)] Hello Martin,
The feature you're requesting is already present (from version 1.0) [2 |:|]
Open the label editor, after the "S" (strikeout) button there is a small colored rectangle. Simply click on it to change the background color of the editor [2 :-o]
See the help for this point

Regards, Davide

I think this is a very big and useful improvement but for now Dynamic HTML Editor is not designed to work in this manner so I should think a way to do this

I've already though for a similar thing. Maybe in next version.
I'm thinking also to create a free-form polygon tool and a tool for creating graphical labels in a certain shape like WorkArt.

Hello Davide,

as far as my first question (regarding the white text on white background in the text editor) is concearned. This is almost as stupid a question as the one about justifying text[2 C:-)]

Now you pointed the solution out to me I remembered it. I have no idea what my brain is doing lately but not much appearantly

And as far as my second question goes (regarding the abillity to edit the source), this would be the best improvement you can make!!!
If you can get this in there somehow you would not only make me very happy but your program would also be even more interesting to the 'official' webdesigners out there.

We do like to tinker with the source now and then[2 H:)]. It would be especially usefull for the use of CMS and the likes.

Question three would be a nice bonus but I wouldn't break my brains over it if I were you. I didn't use it to often in the past but I kind of needed it yesterday so I thought I'd mention it.
Nice if it is a part of the program not a big point if it isn't.

Wow a freeform polygon tool![2 0oo0] That won't be easy to create I think, but would be a nice feature. I am not familair with WorkArt but I think I now what you mean. These features are always nice
