When I insert 'special' characters - for example the copyright symbol. Dynamic HTML Editor does not use the correct html entity, but uses simply the copyright character as entered. ?
This is dangerous, as it may not be shown correctly on the end user's screen (a good example is the British Pound character - if you use the simple character ? this will display on a USA screen as a hash #).
Can we have a special character insert system or could you do a character replacement so that the symbols for these special characters are correctly converted into their HTML entity equivalents?
If this is not possible, the only safe way to make these characters appear is to use your own HTML
I pull up the windows special character accessory and copy - paste - only because I can never remember the correct Alt + numeric code. The special character accessory tool also shows you the correct Alt + numeric shortcut - so if you use one character often enough, maybe you can get to remember it ;-) Actually, I see the character ? is created by holding down Alt and typing 0169 on the numeric keypad (not the numeric keys above the qwerty bit - maybe some wizard will explain this wieirdo Windows thing to me, a mere Silver Grade TechnoMoron) Anyway - the main thing is - lets have a proper HTML entity system - Dynamic HTML Editor badly needs it! Cheers Julian
