What is the best way to accomplish this? Multiple pages for each language, or?

That's how I do it.

For larger sites with multiple languages there are maybe better options to use then DHE.

You could take a look at wolf CMS: http://www.wolfcms.org

The layout of your site can be made with DHE, the content with Wolf.
The newest version 7.0 has a build-in multi-language module.

Thanks guys... I'm thinking about copying the pages I have now, putting them in a sub-directory based on language (de, en, es, fr, etc) and then translate the pages using Google. To get to the sites, you would go to pragerphoneapps.com/de/index.htm

What do you think?

I think you shouldn't use Google translate. It is very handy for translating some text you don't speak, but for translating a website?
Just give it a try. Let Google translate some text from say English to Dutch and then back again: LOL

How else can I do it? I can't afford a human translator! (and I could always indicate "Translated by Google", so users don't think I'm a complete idiot!

In this case I think I would save myself a lot of trouble and just go with wordpress [installed in a few clicks in cpanel]--this example is $30 and you own it--no backlinks

http://tinyurl.com/4j3pxuf

add the plug-in of your choice to translate the pages and done--probably as good as it is going to get translation wise--although I do not know for a fact

http://tinyurl.com/48dyxmg

there are plenty of others

I wish dhe imported a little better there are tons of beautiful themes there for like $15--It would be really nice to edit in dhe but I have yet to import one satisfactorily---after you buy it you can copy it easy enough in dhe though

joneq: I like this, but don't understand where the $30 comes ... also, is Wordpress a replacement for D.H.E? In otherwords, do you build web pages with it?

wordpress is free. It is a seo ready blog/cms you edit all the content in the admin section no need for any editor

sign up at themeforest and you get the $30 price--deposit via paypal or moneybrokers

http://tinyurl.com/4tmohwx

wordpress installs on the host server with a few clicks in fantastico/or software installer--then you add the theme from the back end and start editing and adding widgets [google wordpress widget]

get a free accoount at http://wordpress.com/

to check it out

you get the basic theme but admin is where it all happens--there are loads of free themes but not that look that good imo

Hi Joneq... I use fastmail already... haven't had an email problem in years! As far as the internationalization of the site, I have taken the English .dhe pages and moved them into different directories (/es, /de, /fr, /it) and then used Google to translate them. Works OK, since I can't afford a human translator now. I also use a menu system by LinkSys that allows me to use XML as the menu in the body of each .htm page. I translate the menu, and it works like a champ. The easiest way to take a menu and translate it once, and then have it work for each language. Awsum! :D
