I was looking around for an easy and preferably free e-commerce solution and came across this.It accepts a lot of different payment methods, integrates with Wordpress and Joomla and a lot more.No database required, don't know if that is good or bad--I do not need one so it works for me.

thanks Dav. it looked like it was made for an extension. I feel your pain TOON. it is hosted on their servers but I some how think it will be ok--the same company owns x-cart and lite commerce this is not their sole project--of course it is not the best situation but for free it is plenty good--I imagine some would pay for it --like they do for www.foxycart.com which functions the same way but does a lot more for $19 a month. An extension for that would be pretty much the same ---I think..a free functioning store is available to check it out.
Another option I am exploring [again] is to make a one page template with dhe and port it to www.modxcms.com [evolution] and use the free shopkeeper plug-in which is self hosted and looks very nice.I say again because I wanted to use it before but up till now there was no real cart specifically for MODX and setting up and paying for foxycart was not ideal--it is less ideal now that it went up $3.00 mo.
http://modxcms.com/extras/package/527
I don't see any real advantage to not using a cms for every site and modx evolution is very nice--and easier tham most cms's to do simple things like templates
modx revolution is in development |

Ecwid looks the same as FoxyCart, but they have considerable difference. When you use FoxyCart you check out on their site, however when you use Ecwid all checkout goes on your site actually.
If you have any questions about Ecwid, feel free to ask : -) |

I checked it, working and it looks good. Now lets wait for the iDeal plugin from ecwid.......Then I can implement it on a site for a dutch customer! At this moment a minimum of payment options is available so I cannot use it. |

You could take a look here: http://www.freewebshop.org This is a simple free webshop (also in Dutch) which has an Ideal-module available.
Implantation in a DHE page is straightforward. Upload the webshopfiles to your server and include some PHP code on your DHE page where you want the webshop objects to appear.
The webshop comes with a clear manual in English.

Thanks Petran, a pitty that none of the downloads (source, templates, language) is working. In the forum I see a lot of alternative download sections, looks strange to me.. Did you by the way implement this webshop in one of your sites? can't find live examples in forums or so.
