The Sitemap-function in DHTML seems to work unproper.
normaly the first <url> entry, starting with <loc> should be the clean web-adress, without any htm.files in the name.
f.e.
www.testsite.com
This is the base, where the robots start to search pages following the pathname.

Only the following entrys ought to have the pagenames f.e.
www.testite.com/index.htm

Actually the first entry isnt set by DHTML!
Google remarks the sitemap.xml with error. Pathname is incorrect.

Nice would be the possibility to set for XML in page-menu the period of actualisation of the page (daily, weekly,...).

Have a look on http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php

Henrygun, I just studied the sitemap protocol when I created this features, about 1 year ago.

>normaly the first <url> entry
This is not a rule, you can do it if you want.
I can add the first entry as empty (with only the domain name); I'll check it.

>Google remarks the sitemap.xml with error. Pathname is incorrect
Are you sure that the index.htm page exists on your site?
The testsite domain doesn't exist.

I used my program to create sitemaps for many sites; also for mine; and every sitemap created is correctly managed by google.

Hi,
The rule in sitemap.org ist to define the rootpath of the website, where all other subpages can be found.
DHTML creates the first entry with the name of the index.htm/default.htm. This has the effect, that google looks for all other pages in the path: www.testsite.com/index.htm/ where nothing can be found.

Adding the first entry with domain-name only as root-path on the webserver would solve the problem!
Indeed I merged the first phrase for testing manually and it was accepted by google.
The remaining syntax of the sitemap-function in DHTML is correct.

Remark: testsite.com was only an example, it's not working!

Where did you find this info? I was not able to find it.

;-) I'll fix it asap!

I don't know what happens now. I once more send the original DHTML sitemap.xml to google and it was accepted. Maybe caching problems, because I tested with three different files.
But I think it would be a good solution to integrate the rootpathname of the site into the sitemap-file. So does online sitemap-tools I tested in the web.
