Last year I started to make a translation for DHE in our dialect (some say language), the Nedersaksisch. I contacted the regional paper and told them about it. Yesterday I visited them (with a laptop and DHE) and showed them how it worked. The following article appeared in the paper today. First I a scan of the article and after that a translation (with some explanation).

This is the translation of the article in "De Stentor", march 14, 2007
I added comment (Italic) where I thought that was necessary.

Building a website goes smoother in you own Nedersaksisch.
(Nedersaksisch is our local dialect, JvL.)

Lochemer foresees webprogramma of Nedersaksisch element.

Author: Niek Megens.
Designing a website and feel the warm bath of your mothers language, or rather the 'moodersproake'. That is possible if you download the 'Dynamic HTML Editor' from Hexagora. com. Thanks to Lochemer and ICT-designer Jan van Londen. "The Dynamic HTML Editor" is a super-easy program. With that, every dombo can put a website together", says Van Londen. "A matter of a little cut and past." The program can - when downloaded - be used in different languages. "But why not in our dialect?", asked a friend of Van Londen.
(That's HenriB on this forum. JvL)

The Lochemer (Lochem is our town, JvL.) started immediately with the realisation of the idea. The designer (That is Davide, JvL) of the program appeared to like the idea. "The interaction with the maker, an Italian, is realy phenomenal", says Van Londen.

Who downloads the program (the first thirty days for free use, after that only 45 Euros) can, wherever in the world he is, use the Nedersaksisch as standard language. "I must say, it is my version of the Nedersaksisch. Not the official WALD-spelling that the Staring Institute uses." Arie Ribbers (A wellknown expert about our local language, JvL.), as a local language consultant connected to the institute, has already shown interest. "He finds the combination between modern technology and the old language beautiful.", knows Van Londen. "Perhaps he can set the spelling right."

That's it.

Congratulations!!!!

This is great. I don't speak dialect (not even my own Gronings) but I do think it's very good you translated DHE into Nedersaksisch.

It's also great advertizing for DHE!

Nice article in the newspaper[2 H:)] (except maybe for the dombo part hahahahaha).

Keep up the good work Jan!

Martin
