To remove the black borders problem and for surfing the web more safely do the follow:
1- use a firewall (I use seagate personal firewall, I dislike ZoneAlarm very heavy and intrusive, I like Look'n'Stop also, I dislike Kerio) 2- use an antivirus with Realtime protection active because Windows (I use XP SP2) is a very very bugged system and probably you can take a virus or a spyware only navigating (!!!) 3- Sometime use SpyBot AND Ad-Aware to find and remove spyware 4- There is also some pretty tools like BHO Captor and RootKit Hook Analizer that can help you to find bad things in your system 5- Use FireFox browser that supports PNG32 natively ;-) |

Posted - 18 Jan 2006 : 01:48:09 @Martin & Davide
You/we? did not like the black (rectangles/squares) when using PNG files! Well, bad news, when using Flash-files ?same problem, but this time the (rectangles/squares) are white! It seems that we will have to live with it , man
Example: http://users.telenet.be/SuEl/Goob.htm
For those with a very fast PC, just toggle F5 to see the effect!
BTW: this has nothing to do with the Dynamic HTML Editor site builder software, but is just one off those [2 }:HHH] things!

Posted - 28 Dec 2005 : 13:21:57 Yes you're right Davide (nothing wrong with your memory that's for sure).
It's a very very very very very very fast machine[2 H:)] and my internet connection is also a very fast one (just got a free upgrade to an even faster connection[2 H:)])
But still I see this black background although I only see it for less than a second or so. But I find that a rather ugly sight so I use gif which doesn't have that problem but is limited in it's color use.
Aaaaah if life was easy and all things worked perfect
I have to say this here and now.
[2 :777]I LOVE Dynamic HTML Editor!!!!!!!![2 :777]
I haven't touched my Adobe GoLive in weeks! |

Hello Waldorf,
IE5+ supports alpha transparency but only using the PNG32.htc and blank.gif files created by Dynamic HTML Editor. If you have Windows XP service pack 2 you MUST right click on the yellow bar on the top that appears when you preview a page and enable script.. This only on your local pc not after have uploaded the site to the internet.

>1. when I export, there is always a blank page outside the folder? >what is the meaning of that file? (there is always already, one in >the folder)
The file blank.gif that is in the same directory of exported files (and not in the additional files directory) servers only for PNG32.htc that needs this file in order to make the transparency work
quote:
>2. What does these(bottom icons and boxes) do .they are always >dimmed ? (some future stuff, or so?)
what? the aligning tools? Select two or more objects and align them!
NOTE FOR ALL: You should see the black borders only when the page is loading; until the PNG32.HTC file take effect! If you have a very fast PC you cannot see them ;-) |

Posted - 25 Dec 2005 : 01:16:21 Your going to see the black ..as the page loads....if you've used the "shadow" effect, thats a natural effect of .png's. Your seeing the layers loading. All images have their own idiosyncrasies when loading.Dont like the look of your images? Use an editor to define the way you want them. A excellent freeware one is the Gimp. You can get some nice effects with .jpeg's very similar to .png's |

Posted - 23 Dec 2005 : 13:24:40 Hello Waldorf,
please upload your Dynamic HTML Editor pages using the "Publish Project" item in the project menu and all will go ok. this because IE need an additional file made by me ;-) that use an external file PNG32.htc to load png32 images. With your pages you need the following files in order to display correctly PNG32 images under IE: 1- your files .htm/.asp/.php, etc... 2- the file PNG32.htc in the same directory 3- the file blank.gif in the same directory
See this site:
http://www.spacciosanmassimo.it
this is made using PNG32 and there are no problems in IE... |

Posted - 23 Dec 2005 : 11:48:54 See if this method....or a mod of the contained Dynamic HTML Editor script will help http://mattread.com/archives/2004/08/png-background-fix/
I'm assuming that you have scripting turned on in IE when using it to view you site? |

Posted - 22 Dec 2005 : 23:03:50 Tell me about it!!!
That's why I asked Davide to remove the png and add gif. Hope this new update will have it but I am not sure he was going to do it at all[2 }:HH]
Png and or IE sucks!

Posted - 22 Dec 2005 : 20:34:04 Okay thanks Martin1 The png32.htc file was also loaded but invain! :-(
IE will always be a pain in the *ss ;-) |

Posted - 22 Dec 2005 : 11:11:33 Hello Waldorf,
I have the same problem with the png format but you also need to upload the png32.htc file to the server which is needed so IE shows the transparancy correct.
Sadly enough I still can't get it to work properly even with this this particular file so I need to use gif's made in Paint Shop Pro X.
