Is it possible to have a graphical rectangle made in dhe export in any other format (for example gif) than png?
I don't like to work with png so I want the recatangle to be exported as a gif. It's just a plain white rectangle with a red border and rounded corners.

I exported the page and uploaded all files including the PNG32.htc which is there on the server. So either there is somethong wrong with the htc file or with the export procedure of Dynamic HTML Editor.
Let's move to gif instead of that darn png![2 H:)]

Posted - 29 Nov 2005 : 09:04:06 Hello Martin,
the black background is shown because IE isn't able to display correctly PNG-32 files without the use of a file called PNG32.htc made by me ;-) In order to avoid this you can uncheck the flag "png32 support" when exporting the project but be sure to remove the transparency from objects or you will have a very poor image quality... |

Posted - 28 Nov 2005 : 12:40:05 I don't like png because I have had some bad expreiences in the past. maybe a lot has improved but still: http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/pngstatus.html#browsers
there still seem to be issues in IE, Konqueror and even w3c own Amaya browser/editor.
If you take a look at this page http://www.loopfietsverkoop.nl/beachrunner.html and look at the image of the bike in the 'center' of the page you can see that it first shows the white background as black. It also did this with the corners of the rounded rectangle around all the text etc. I changed that but the image I left for you to see. You won't get this with gif.

Posted - 25 Nov 2005 : 18:44:06 Well it would be a great imporvement if you could get Dynamic HTML Editor to export also in gif format. For now I will have to do some handcoding to get it all changed to gif[2 H:.(]
I'll be waiting for the update of the program to see if it's in there[2 H:)]
Thanks for the response.

Posted - 25 Nov 2005 : 08:55:58 Teorically it should be possible because the graphical library which I use supports the writing of GIF files. I've already thinked of that; maybe in a next future there will be the ability to export shapes using the GIF format. Note that the image will have the same quality as the PNG-8 format. |
