Am I mistaken or is the background parameter in graphic label not working? I tried to set a background colour but my settings had no effect.

I've changed all occurences of "Complex Background" to "Complex filling method" because it's more clean.
This evening I'll upload this version ;-)

Thanks--I see how it works now.

The background color refers to the color of text but you can use it only by setting the Complex Back parameter to 'True'.
If you want to set a background but not for text you can create a graphical rectangle and merge it with your label using the tool men?. You can split images if you need to modify the text ;-)
