Nobody else has written about this so I'm probably doing something wrong: when I try to adjust any of the parameters in the effects edit window, like % opacity for drop shadow (nice effect!), the new values are always lost as soon as I click OK. When I go back to the effects window the default values have always come back again.
Otherwise, really enjoying 2.1!

Sorry this works in a different way:
1- select the effect in the bottom list
2- remove
3- change settings
4- re-add
I'll fix it very soon ;-)
