I have looked at various PHP scripts (PHP LD, Indexu, WSN) for a local directory site that I am developing but find that incorporating the script into a template to maintain a consistent look is way beyond my expertise. As a small site, I think that I will use a Perl script from EZ Scripts that will use any existing template that I create although I will have to use several databases (text) to accomodate potential growth and the limits of a text based database.

I have also looked at Serif WebPlus X4 and have the latest DHE. Some general questions:

Has anyone used a MySQL database script with DHE and is it an option for a beginner?
If I have understood the DHE features correctly, incorporating Perl is not a problem?

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Staggerlee

D.H.E. will permit you to customize your page where you want; I used it for making this and other sites and all of them uses Server Side code (.asp); I also used MySql with this site but I don't know if this is a simple operation for a beginner since I'm a developer.
