Posted - 24 Nov 2009 : 16:54:43 Hello,
I don't seem to find much help in the "Help" section of Dynamic Drive regarding the IFrame. Maybe someone here can help. I link a page to IFrame, and off of that page, I have hot links to the remainder of the pages. What is happening is my first page, that is the link in the IFrame, does not come up. This isn't happening on all of them, but it does especially if I have more than one page linking off of the 1st page. If you go to http://www.bryercarpetandblinds.com/arearugs.htm, and click on "Traditional", you will see that the pages are not appearing as I have them linked. It seems I have to spend hours to get this to work correctly. This is causing me to put in way too much time. Is there a solution to this?
Thank you, |

I checked on your theory that I might have two pages the same. You were exactly right. Somehow page4 was a copy of page 5. I corrected that and it seems to be working fine. I'm in hopes this may be the problem I have had all along, as it will be easy to resolve if so.
Thank you for sharing your input with me. |

I'm not sure why it would be a copy, and or how I could tell if it is a copy. All of the pages are in sequence and in my project, such as armstronghardwoodoak1, armstronghardwoodoak2, etc. Can you respond to this with any further hints or suggestions.
Thank you |

What I mean is that page 4 and page 5 are exactly the same page. It seems that page 4 doesn't exist as a separate page but as a copy of page 5. |

What could be wrong with the pages I link to? I know that the hot links are all linked correct because I have checked them several times. Could it be the redundancy of the pages that is causing a problem? I know that on each page I name the hot links page1, page2, page3, etc. Maybe this is mass confusion.

Posted - 30 Nov 2009 : 16:12:16 I think you have to check your pages. When I go directly to page 4 (not through your mainpage) with this link: http://www.bryercarpetandblinds.com/armstronghardwoodoak4.htm I get exactly the same result as when I go directly to page 5: http://www.bryercarpetandblinds.com/armstronghardwoodoak5.htm . So I think it has nothing to do with your IFrame, but with the pages you link to. |

Thank you for your response. If you go to http://www.bryercarpetandblinds.com/armstronghardwood.htm and go to the link "Oak", you will see that the pages are working fine until you get to page 4, which it skips over and goes to page 5, thereafter the links for the pages are messed up.
Update. I just checked the web site that I am referring to above, and all pages are working except for page 4. It is consuming all of my time trying to correct this issue as I have to reexport and republish over and over and mostly with no results. I hope you can help with this as I need to move on and be more constructive with my time in designing this site.
Thank you,

I think this is not the solution; I'm not able (sorry) to understand what is the problem;
janisrae,
please send me a piece of your project (with some pages) and explain me in detail how to reproduce the problem and I'll check it.

Posted - 29 Nov 2009 : 22:12:22 joneq and Davide, I think I got excited too quickly. The pages continue to get messed up as I create new ones. It appeared that the "only link (no export)" was the answer, but it has not proven to be consistent. Does anyone have a solution to this delima? I've exhausted all of my ideas. Is it that Dynamic Editor is not stable and is unable to deliver the goods? |

Posted - 25 Nov 2009 : 17:04:39 joneq and Davide, I am so excited!! I have found the answer to my question. I think I tried everything but this, so here is a lesson to all who may experience this issue. Since all of the numbered pages are images placed inside, and this may or may not have anything to do with what was causing this problem, but I was exporting them all as .jpg files. I changed that to "Only Link (no export)" and they are working fine now.
Thank you for helping me figure this out. I guess with some determination, you'll sooner or later find the answer.

Posted - 25 Nov 2009 : 16:11:33 joneq, I am using Jing also for capturing. That is what I used to get all of the images of the hardwood, arearugs and all other thunbnail samples that I have on this website we are discussing. Great program.

Posted - 25 Nov 2009 : 16:06:18 Davide, joneq answered my reply to you. If you go to either page http://www.bryercarpetandblinds.com/arearugs.htm (click on "Traditional" and page 2 or 3 comes up) or page http://www.bryercarpetandblinds.com/armstronghardwood.htm (click on "Maple" and page 2 or 3 comes up) Both of these are supposed to bring up the first page, but instead bring up the 2nd or 3rd and then the page numbers are all out of line. Do you have a clue what would be causing this. This has happened to several of my categories. Some I was able to correct, but it took me a few hours. It just seems so wasteful to have to spend that much time fixing something that should work.
Please let me know if you have any solutions to this issue.
Thank you, |

Posted - 25 Nov 2009 : 16:00:27 joneq, Yes, you are exactly right. I have linked to the first page to come up in the iframe, but either page 2 or page 3 comes up instead, and then the numbers for the pages are all out of sort. Why isn't the page I'm placing in the iframe coming up? This is the issue that I can not seem to resolve. If the correct page would come up, then the page numbers would all be correct.
In regards to the horizontal lines, I'm not seeing those at all, so I'm not sure what you are referring to there.
Any further help would be appreciated.
Thank you, |

Posted - 25 Nov 2009 : 15:54:23 not working for me in any browser ff IE8 Chrome
David are you looking at the right thing open the page and click on traditional halfway down the page there are a number of pages in this category so there is a menu at the top left of the iframe where it says 384 styles--then and arrow and some page numbers --the iframe opens to page three on my comp in every browser---does it open to page one on your's?
