I tried it a few times, but I have given up. A Dutch cheese for the one who makes it work!

Sorry, I had no time to test D.H.E. under linux, I heard for a friend that the program should run using the latest version of Wine.

Any more progress on this? I'd rather be able to use DHE in Linux than boot into Windows just to work on my site. I'm trying to use Windows as little as possible. Look forward to the day when DHE might possibly be run native in Linux.

I'll check by myself before, then I'll contact you

Well, I tried it (Picasa for AMD32), but no result. Maybe you can send me a personal message, so that I can contact your friend directly for more details.

OK, I will give it a try. I will report the results here.

As my friend said, you should install the Linux version of the Picasa application.
That version should contain a modified (more than 250 fixes) version of the Wine appllication (made by google in order to permit the Picasa application work under linux).
I don't know if this application replaces the standard Ubuntu Wine app or contains another different version, when I'll find a bit of time I'll test it on my Ubuntu.

Hello Davide,

No, I did't try that version. Can you give me more details?
I mean, I tried a Wine version I installed under Ubuntu. Then I installed DHE. DHE was able to start, but opening an empty page didn't work. There it ended for me.
Where can I find the wine in Picasa? Do I need the "Ubuntu-Picasa?"
I hope you or your friend can help me.
Maybe he can write a recipe.

Have you tried using the Wine version contained in the Google Picasa application?
A friend of mine has been able to run it
Jan van Londen Posted - 17 Feb 2009 : 02:14:06
Hello Davide and Rea(?),

I cannot get it to work (Ubuntu)
s.dav Posted - 16 Feb 2009 : 08:32:59
It should work using the Wine version contained into the Google Picasa application.
