Hello.

I have been working to put a website up - main page is www.miskeminiatures.com I have the page centered in the browser, text colors/sizes set up, etc. I know the very basic, I have studied the HELP section and read through some Forums. I have version 4.1.12 The issues are as follows:

1. I have a logo picture that is supposed to be on all the pages. I set up my index/main page and then used the SAVE AS to to create the rest of the pages so they would all have the same placement/etc. The logo picture shows up fine in many pages, but in just as many, the picture shows as a blank with a red X. According to the file where everything is stored, the images are there. I republished some pages, but still no logo pictures show up correctly. So why aren't they showing up on the page and how can I fix this?

Sample A is logo picture is good:
www.miskeminiatures.com/for%20the%20house%20silk%20tassels.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/for%20the%20house%20silk%20tassels.htm

Sample B logo picture is bad:
www.miskeminiatures.com/ladieswear%20home%20page.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/ladieswear%20home%20page.htm

2. Other pictures on numerous pages are showing up as a box with a red X too. I have republished the pages, but still no pictures. The pictures are not that large in kb size.

Sample C - page has 2 pictures (aside from the logo picture) and only 1 is showing correctly:
www.miskeminiatures.com/holidays%20Halloween%20wooden%20stake.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/holidays%20Halloween%20wooden%20stake.htm

Sample D - no pictures showing up
www.miskeminiatures.com/ladieswear%20silk%20wraps.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/ladieswear%20silk%20wraps.htm

3. In the preview, text and picture placement is fine. Once uploaded, some pages show the picture covering the text. Now I believe I have all the pages set up to be static, that is they do not self-adjust placement depending on the browser/window size. This is only happening on a few pages that I have noted so far.

Sample E - picture (if it was showing properly) would be covering the text:
www.miskeminiatures.com/supplies%20CHENILLE%20TRIM%20COLORS%20PAGE%201.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/supplies%20CHENILLE%20TRIM%20COLORS%20PAGE%201.htm

4. I made a page when I started the website creating process, but ended up wanting to change the name. I used the SAVE AS to rename the page. I did nothing else to the pages, no changes. Both got published. The original one I wanted to rename looks perfect while the new page doesn't have the pictures. Any explanations?

Sample F - original page looks perfect
www.miskeminiatures.com/historical%20resources.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/historical%20resources.htm

Sample G - new page pictures gone
www.miskeminiatures.com/miniature%20resources.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/miniature%20resources.htm

5. As I said, all pages have the center the page feature checked, but some pages aren't coming up as centered. Other pages made from the same basic page are showing as centered though.

Sample H - page properties say this is supposed to be centered in browser, but it isn't
www.miskeminiatures.com/ladieswear%20reticules%20and%20purses.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/ladieswear%20reticules%20and%20purses.htm

Sample I - centered properly
www.miskeminiatures.com/ladies%20hat%20collections%20classic%20hats%20page%203.htm" target="_blank">http://www.miskeminiatures.com/ladies%20hat%20collections%20classic%20hats%20page%203.htm

I hope I have given you enough information to be helpful. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks in advance for your help.

> Why does forcing a new name on them work?

Have you used the integrated Publishing feature? Try to Choose "Upload All Files" and let me know

Hello.

I know the pictures aren't on the website. I checked the folder on my computer which contains the pages and pictures. All the pictures are in that folder and are labeled correctly according to the program such as page X_picture3. So why didn't they get sent when page was published, when other pictures get sent just fine? Why does forcing a new name on them work?

As for missing files, I create a page, save a page, export it and then publish it. How do the files go missing, what are the files, and how do I get them back? I don't use the Master Page feature. I set up my index page with the features/look I want and then use the Save As to make the additional pages.

Thanks.

About your questions:

1-2- the second link you posted displays wrong images simply because they are not present on your website

for example an image with this link are referred but not found on your website: "files/ladieswear home page_picture3.jpg"

the direct link is "http://www.miskeminiatures.com/files/ladieswear home page_picture3.jpg" and the file is not found so please check the "files" folder of your D.H.E. project and upload all files into this folder on your site

3- same problem; some files .css contained in the "files" folder of your project are missing from your site so "labels" and "texts" haven't the correct style applied

In every case, if you have a site with common parts in every page, check the Master-Page feature

Hello.

Hmm, how about you help me fix the technical issues and I will waive the order and send a free gift? Great for kids and grandkidsat Christmastime. :)

I was able to highlight and copy the text on my index page. I didn't try any other pages.

Thanks.

Try to copy just the red and black text--I can't do it---could be something [2 ?:-|]

I know you were not looking for a critique, but I could not help myself. The fact that you ask "Please let us know of any errors you find and we will send a free gift with your order. Thank you." was the real clincher.

Can I get a free gift even if I don't order anything. I take paypal

Hello.

Thanks for the critique of the site. I appreciate your thoughts, but they aren't what I was looking for here. I am hoping for technical assistance at the moment. I am having some picture problems, one of which has been resolved by another member. Do you know why some pictures would be suddenly covering up text despite showing fine in the preview browser? The pages don't, or aren't meant to, self-adjust to everyone's browser.

Thanks again for your help.

You asked if anyone sees any errors..I see these and they look wrong/not right to me

Welcome to our new and improved website. It has been a long time in the making and we hope you enjoy it too.

Unless you want to include that you enjoy it,which you really can't, I would lose the "too" In order to use a too some has to do "something first" then someone can do it "too"--like "enjoy" in this case

and this--not critical..

We make many unusual dollhouse miniatures. Our goal is to provide lovely miniatures for all ages. What child wouldn't love a feathery hat and matching parasol for their doll to wear and what adult wouldn't appreciate the sheen and splendor of our Specialty Collection hats or silk tassels.

needs the comma after wear
matching parasol for their doll to wear,

or you could use another complete sentence---not starting with and..

and here:

We also provide several styles of hats for men whatever their station in life or time.

Sounds strange--time?--maybe "station in life or age"

I assume by "station in life" you mean job or situation/position--what you have achieved--where you are in the social hierarchy. Not everyone reading it will get what "station in life" is,but it does not really matter I guess---it sounds good and it is not inappropriate.

That was not even a half bad comment [3 :-x]

Hello.

I tried your solution and it worked. I don't really care what the program calls the pictures though. Which is why I didn't force names onto the pictures. It was just an extra step I didn't need (or so I thought). So is this a bug?? Why did half my pictures make it online ok and the rest have to be renamed? Is this fixed in a later version?

Any thoughts about why some of the pictures are covering the text in a few pages? I have the pages as static - not self adjusting to everyone's browser.

Thanks again for the picture renaming fix.
