Hi
In the page I am builing I have a filled graphic "bar" extending from edge to edge, in other words from zero to 1000.
Because I wanted to drop shadow the bar, I added in effects,
"drop shadow (50)(0)(20)(3)(315)"
This gave me a beautiful effect, but because the shadow extends out at each end of the bar, I cannot have it going the full vertical page length without having to "scroll" a bit when viewed in a browser.
1. I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say here.
2. Is there a solution?
Thanks in advance,
Skyborn

Another good one but hr is prone to display problems if you try to color the line.

An other way:
- Insert a HTML-object (Button HTML on left standing bar.)
- Make the field as broad as the desired length of the line.
- Insert only "<HR>" in the object (without the "").
- Preview your line.
- You can change the length by making the HTML-object wider or narrower.
- Place it on the page by moving the HTML-object.

A trick I heard and have used is to make a table with one row and one cell that is a few pixels in height and colored. Make the table 100% width. BINGO! A colored line that is the width of the screen.

You're right to learn it yourself.
Good for you.

TOON
Thanks,
I gotta learn this sometime, so I guess I'll plunge in. If I get ready to start pulling out hair, I'll take you up on the offer.
Blessings,

Or you can tell me what you need and I'll make it for you, no problem.

OK,
Now I have to learn how to use Gimp. In Italian that translates to Mamma Mia!(:-)
Thanks

Oke,

Now I see what you mean.

The answer is no, it's not possible in DHE itself.
You'll have to make a graphic in Photoshop or something similar and use that as a background in DHE.

Remember that the graphic can be very narrow (like 1 or 2 px) to keep it small and then use repeat in DHE to make it fill the enitre background.

Surprise. It appears that you cannot stretch even a single line from zero to 1000 (1024x768 res). I did figure how to edit the banner in the Grapical Canvas, but it did not solve the problem. Eliminated the shadow on the banner and the problem remained. An object, (line, banner, etc.) cannot stretch from the horizontal left edge of the screen to the horizontal right edge without the scroll bar allowing movment in the browser - or so it seems. Am I wrong?

What do you mean?

What is there you want to change?

Maybe an example with pictures?

OK, I got it in the Graphical Canvas, matter of fact, I built a replica right in the canvas, so, from this newbie, what tool do you use to edit the banner? Tried everything I could find. I know there has to be a way. what am I missing???

Using the Graphical canvas it's possible to crop images ;-)

Changing the angle doesn't cut it off sharp enough.
Editing it in graphical canvas , I haven't tried those sort of things yet.

A simpler method is to change the angulation of the Drop Shadow effect or to cut the shape by pasting it into the Graphical Canvas Editor

I think I know what you mean.

You want the drop shadow but you only want it at the bottom, not at the sides?

If that's the case then you can rightclick on the object and choose 'save object as' then choose 'save picture'.

Now open that file in a something like photsshop or photopaint or gimp or whatever en cut of the shadows at the sides.

Izze simple....
