Posted - 24 May 2007 : 13:57:44 I now installed D.H.E. (3.3) under Vista. Besides some trouble with missing fonts it seemed to work great at first. But now i encounter a big problem. When i edit an existing page i can't save it. I get an errormessage: '(3A) File already exists'. I can't find out how to tackle this problem.
Thanks. Henri |

Posted - 26 May 2007 : 11:12:16 Vista has some small differences regarding the folder permissions from older Windows systems. The "Program Files" folder is like "read-only" for every user, an user should write only in his own directory. Vista has the ability to virtualize the files written to the "program files" folder so if you have the permissions to write into this folder and you write a file, when you'll restart Windows the file will disappear ;-) I've not tested this feature, I've only read it on the Web. |

You can't create a folder in any other place (like the desktop) and save the files there?
Am I understanding this right? Is this a Vista thing or a D.H.E. thing? |

Posted - 25 May 2007 : 00:21:10 Hi Davide, You got it. So for everybody else who's going to switch to Vista now or in future: You have to save you projects and pages in the public documents. There you can make a new folder with a name like 'sites' or 'D.H.E.-files'. First i tried to save them in a subfolder of D.H.E., but did not have to proper privileges to write in that folder. Stupid but true. I don't have the feeling i'm in control (yet!).[2 77:H]
Thanks Davide. |

Posted - 24 May 2007 : 20:39:54 But where do you want to save the page? Be sure to save in (in Vista) into your "Documents and Settings" folder. Maybe you haven't the permission to save in certain folders... |
