i'm a long time user of Performance Monitor, it's especially helpful for me for displaying hard disk usage in the systray.
Alot of our servers have recently been migrated to Server 2008 R2 (64-Bit). We installed PerfMon 4 on these machines but unfortunately this version only allows to display hard disk time as a graph. I liked the non historical view of performance monitor 3.9 alot better. Is there any chance that this feature will come back in a future version? I would be willing to pay a small amount for this feature since there is no other tool that comes close to PerfMon.
here's a screenshot of our server 2003 trayicon setup (perfmon next to vmware-icon) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/33/snapshot1gc.png/

I know that most people like graphs. the only problem I have with them: it's sometimes very hard to see what the current load is (right at the moment) because its only 1 pixel wide. If you have a smaller display you really have to "concentrate" a little to spot it. with the old tray icon you could see it out of the corner of one's eye. (Don't know if this is correct english) An option to switch between graph and "meter" would be great. Do you have a donations page or sth like that? I really want to give something back if I'm the only one who likes this feature. I can also give you some bitcoins in case you are interested.
thanks, bye quimby

Posted - 01 Aug 2011 : 09:27:44 Hello Quimby,
that icon have been criticized a lot in the previous version and many used requested me to return to the graph (also in the tray area). So maybe an option should be great but I need some time because I have to do many changes in the code for this. |
